Born as a “non-hierarchical collective” in the slabtown district of NW Portland, this Bluegrass
quintet plays hard-driving yet soulful traditional and original bluegrass and country numbers.
Slabtown’s songs feature tight vocal and instrumental harmonies, and appeal to a wide range
of audiences, including bluegrass police officers, hippies, Gen Xers, and everyone in between.
The band is Jeff Wold, banjo; Jon Norlan, fiddle; Larry Ullman, bass; Kaden Hurst, mandolin;
and Jim Coker, guitar.
