Acclaimed mandolin player — and more acclaimed mandolin teacher — Steve Smith will be offering a two-hour workshop at a home in Northeast Portland on Sunday, Nov. 17. Here’s what Steve says about his workshop:
Many mandolin players need help developing solos for vocals tunes for jams and for bands. This multi level class class will cover the use of double stops to create kick offs and play solid melodies for solos. While this technique works for any style of music bluegrass with be the focus. Along with the double stop technique the workshop will demonstrate the integration of pentatonic and blues and how they can be used along with the double stops to get pro solos.
