Folks in the Pacific Northwest love the outdoors, and for 22 years the Columbia Slough Watershed Council has worked to provide a fun and educational way to celebrate their little area of paradise.

Join us on Sunday, August 7th as we fill the air with the sounds of award winning bluegrass at the Annual Columbia Slough Regatta. We perform from 10 a.m. 1 p.m., but the event begins at 9 a.m.

At this year’s Regatta, over 400 people will meet at the St Johns Launch (9363 N Columbia Blvd) on Sunday, August 7th to launch into the safe slack water of the Columbia Slough. Despite the name, the Columbia Slough Regatta is not actually a race, more of a leisurely wildlife-watching group paddle. Keep an eye out for Great Blue Heron, Osprey, Western Painted Turtle, Beavers and more!

Featured will be live music and guided tours of the St. Johns prairie, a former landfill site. Today this prairie is full of native plants that attract Western meadowlarks, streaked horned larks, Western painted turtles and other wildlife. Individuals and families are welcome to bring their own boat. A donation of $8/person is requested. No one is turned away.
