Bluegrass Guitar Workshop

This will be a hands-on workshop for traditional bluegrass guitar. We’ll focus primarily on tips and techniques for solid and interesting backup and rhythm, which is what a bluegrass guitarists role is most of the time! As time allows and depending on the interests of the group, we can also explore other areas including composing solos for vocal songs, lead embellishments, improving tone, critical listening, etc.

This workshop will be valuable for all beginning and intermediate players – bring your guitars and plan to play if you wish, or just observe.

John Kael is an experienced instructor, and has led individual and group instruction classes at several prestigious bluegrass camps, including Kaufman Kamp, Bluegrass at the Beach, Sorrento, Walker Creek and Father’s Day CBA camp in California.
